Iran to establish Iranology center at Lahore Women’s University

TEHRAN, Oct. 27 (MNA) -- Iran will establish an Iranology center at the Lahore College for Women University in near future.

The Vice Chancellor of the university Bushra Mateen and Iran’s cultural attaché Abdolreza Abbasi signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the center on October 23.

“By establishing the center, we will become familiar with two countries’ common culture and civilization,” Mateen said.

She went on to say that although Iran is a neighboring country, even Pakistani academics lack sufficient knowledge about Iran.

She appreciated the establishment of the Iranology center by Iran and called it a necessary action to improve relations between Iran and Pakistan.

At the ceremony, Abbasi said that Iran’s cultural attaché office and the Lahore College for Women University have a close relationship with each other.

“Relations between Iran and Pakistan will extend existing ties between two countries. We are both Muslims and have common religious and cultural heritage. We are obligated to preserve our culture and language and to introduce our young generation to them,” he concluded.
